Resources for research
  • Social Explorer: Excellent resource for geovisualization of census data going back to 1790 (only current data free, however)
  • The Minnesota Population Center, where I spent time as a graduate student, has multiple great resources.
  • National Historic GIS: Access and download data for almost all versions of the U.S. census, from the Minnesota Population Center
  • Locallabs: Demographic data at the state, county, city, or zip code level
  • SNAP Retailer Locator: USDA's listing of SNAP retailers. Download data by state at the bottom of the page.
